Apple Watch Basics Class 4 of 4
The great Sean Marron will be leading this revamped and enhanced four-part introductory series on the Apple Watch! Join Sean as he teaches you how to use a variety of applications, useful tips and tricks, and ways to make your Apple Watch easier to operate. Even if you have taken a previous Apple Watch Basics Class, we strongly encourage you to take this expanded version!
Classes will start on Tuesdays at 12:00 PM at the Park City Senior Center throughout the month of July. The schedule and subject matter for this class are as follows:
July 7: The Very Basics
Topics: powering up; wrist selection; control center; notifications; the two right-side buttons; the timer; display and brightness; how to wear your watch (rear-side sensors); handling calls and messages; adjusting text size and haptics; guide to different watch versions
July 14: Building On the Basics
Topics: connecting to your iPhone (setting up the Apple Watch App); updating your OS; rebooting your Apple Watch; highlighting the Apple Watch’s relevance to Seniors (fall detection, Afib/irregular heartbeat detection, schedule medication reminders, and locating someone); setting up emergency contacts
July 21: Medical Features
Topics: setting up your medical profile (allergies, conditions, medical history); guide to using the Health app; connecting to your medical provider; giving access to your on-line medical profile (such as MyChart); listing all of your medications and supplements (including dose sizes, tablet/capsule shapes, and sizes)
July 28: Health & Fitness
Topics: monitoring your daily movement, exercise and stand goals using the Apple Rings feature; using the Maps app to access hiking trails (including elevation, mileage, and heart rate); setting up a sleep schedule as a foundation for good health; using the Heart Rate app; checking heart rhythm using an ECG; measuring blood oxygen level using the Oximeter
