Nutrition Education Presentation
Park City Hospital Trauma Program Manager and Stroke Coordinator, Katie Rose Smith, will stop by for a special lunchtime presentation all about nutrition. Older adults face unique dietary challenges due to physiological changes, including a slower metabolism, decreased digestive efficiency, and changes in taste and smell that can reduce appetite. These changes can lead to nutrient deficiencies if not addressed. Nutrition plays a crucial role in the health and wellbeing of older adults, and it is essential for maintaining muscle strength, energy levels, and preventing chronic diseases such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and diabetes. Proper nutrition also supports cognitive function and mental health, which are vital for maintaining independence and quality of life. To learn more about these crucial considerations, please join us at the Senior Center for this highly educational presentation.
