Free Pneumonia & Tetanus Vaccine Clinic
The Summit County Health Department’s Nursing Division will be at the Park City Senior Center on Monday, April 13th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM to offer two important vaccines at no out-of-pocket cost to most participants: the Pneumonia (Pneumococcal) vaccine and the Tetanus/Tdap booster.
The CDC recommends pneumococcal vaccinations for all adults 50 and older to protect against a bacterial infection that can cause serious pneumonia, meningitis, and bloodstream infections. Older adults are at higher risk for severe complications — nearly one million adults 65 and older are hospitalized with pneumonia each year in the United States. If you haven’t been vaccinated or aren’t sure of your vaccination history, this is a great opportunity to get protected.
The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (pertussis). The CDC recommends a booster every 10 years for all adults. Many people are overdue without realizing it.
What to bring: insurance card and photo ID. Most major insurance plans are accepted — see the full list HERE. No appointment necessary. Please wear a short-sleeve shirt if possible.
The nursing staff staff will be happy to answer any questions about either vaccine on the day of the event.
