Emerging Issues: US – China Relations in the Trump Era

Join us for our once-a-month discussion series at the Park City Senior Center. Led by member, Bob Shallenberg, each Emerging Issues discussion will center around a topical or political issue and feature a 30-minute introductory video followed by 30 minutes of civil discussion.
March’s video and discussion, entitled “US – China Relations in the Trump Era,” will revolve around the following subtopics:
- The difference in approach to China by Trump 1.0, Biden and Trump 2.0
- The impact of tariffs as a bargaining tool
- The risks of decoupling two highly interdependent economies
- The Taiwan issue and the risk of miscalculation by either side
- Military competition
