Emerging Issues: Norms – The Unwritten Rules of Society

May 14 @ 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm
Join us for our once-a-month discussion series at the Park City Senior Center. Led by member, Bob Shallenberg, each Emerging Issues session will center around a topical or political issue and feature a 30-minute introductory video followed by 45 minutes of civil discussion.

May’s Emerging Issues discussion will focus on norms. Whether a society is governed by a monarchy, dictatorship, theocracy, authoritarian regime, or a democracy, it has norms. Norms are tools of coordination. They bring about and maintain order. The central question is whether those norms advance dignity, justice, trust, equality, morality, and human flourishing or merely preserve power.

Join us on Thursday, April 16th at 1:45 PM at the Park City Senior Center for Emerging Issues. No registration is required, simply show up!
