Member Nancy Garbett will lead a monthly discussion series in which participants will “learn strategies to align their lives with what’s truly important to them.”

About Nancy Garbett:

In 1974, Nancy Garbett transitioned from the suburbs of Chicago to the quiet mountain town of Park City, Utah, then home to just 1,500 residents. With Main Street largely boarded up and the mining industry in decline, the town was ripe for transformation.

Collaborating with a dedicated group of community members, Nancy helped launch a preschool, re-open St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and played a role in restoring the Egyptian Theater. She contributed to the establishment of radio station KPCW and was instrumental in redrawing school district boundaries, negotiating with South Summit School District to integrate areas like Prospector, Thaynes, and Park Meadows into Park City’s jurisdiction.

As a single working mother of six, Nancy became a passionate advocate for education. She championed curriculum enhancements, advocated for girls’ sports programs, and addressed outdated school facilities. Elected twice to the school board, she served for eight years, during which Park City’s schools rose from the bottom to the top of state rankings in pay and curriculum.

Nancy’s commitment to growth extended beyond education. She earned a master’s degree, completed Clinical Pastoral Education, and served as Director of Staff Development at St. Joseph’s Villa, where staff turnover decreased significantly under her leadership. She founded and sold Transition Management, then established WiseGuides and Corporate Shaman LLC, consulting and coaching executives worldwide. Her studies encompass NLP, Emotional Intelligence, MBTI, shadow work, quantum theory, and energy healing. Since 1999, she has hosted South American shamans and wisdom keepers, integrating their teachings into her practice.

An accomplished author, Nancy has published two books and created the “Becoming Real” video series. She co-developed a five-day mediation training adopted by the Utah Dispute Resolution Center and chaired the board of the National University of Natural Medicine for a decade. Her efforts brought student exchange programs to Park City, fostering connections with communities in Mexico, France, and Russia.

Nancy’s work has touched thousands globally. Today, she continues to write, coach, consult, and explore, always seeking to contribute and connect.
